Yesterday the Wallstreet giant computer failed during the regular tradingday of gambling stocks. I went at 4.50pm to the mainoffice of the State Highway Department to report a stolen tag and get a- nother,in talking with the clerk about y 2 k computer problem,she said,they don't work half the time now. We went up to the garage in the foothills of the Blue ridge mountains to pick up my wifes we had anew motor put into,actually an old motor but new to this old car. As she followed me back she noticed the tag was missing. As pressure builds with more and more government rules in getting a car tag,people just steal them one and go on their way. It may have been stolen downtown on WadeHampton BLVD at the servicestat-ion where it sat forawhile. Up in moonshine country on highway414 near North College and near the entrance to GlassyMountain resort the people are more removed from citylife and sometimes harder to know or get to know.
